Our biomass systems are designed to work with a wide range of fuel types, from woodchip to pellets to miscanthus or spent grain, depending on the client’s particular needs and preferences. At all times, our objective is to guarantee the best solution to our clients in terms of value for money, quality, reliability and efficiency over the long term.
Our primary source of biomass fuel is currently woodchip as the cleanest, most abundant and most cost effective option available. Imperative Energy has exclusive access to vast quantities of virgin woodchip derived from forestry thinnings that enable us to provide fuel supply guarantees to our clients over long-term energy supply contracts (e.g. 10 years or more). Our woodchip is procured from forests that are managed on a sustainable basis which means that they are re-planted when felled. The woodchip comes from the thinnings which are completed during the life cycle in order to increase the quality of the timber in the forest.
The woodchip complies with the European fuel quality assurance scheme CEN/TS15234 and is quality-controlled at point of delivery for its moisture content.
