John O’Reilly

John O’Reilly graduated from UCD in 1989 with an honours degree in Agricultural Science having specialised in forestry. Since graduation, John has worked in the private sector and joined Green Belt Limited in 1991, becoming regional manager (Leinster) in 1997 and CEO in 2001. John is a Director of Imperative Energy Limited.

Joe O’Carroll

Joe has 16 years experience in the Agri/Energy industry in Ireland, UK, USA, Central America and East Africa, covering senior management roles in both public and private sector organisations. Board Member of the Biorefinery & Bioenergy Competence Centre, a national R&D programme funded by the Irish Government to drive bioenergy innovation. Member of IBEC’s Innovation, Science and Technology Committee. Also non-Executive Director of StepGreen, an environmental consultancy and Green Belt Panama SA, a Central American Forest Management Company. First class honours Agricultural Science degree from UCD; MBA honours degree from UCC

Ed Simpson

Ed joined CTIP in November 2009.  Prior to CTIP, Ed was an Assistant Director at Bridges Ventures, a lower mid-market investor, where he focussed on the environmental sector. He was previously an investment manager of The Capital Fund which was managed by YFM. Ed qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen in 1998. He spent 4 years at Equinox Securities, a corporate finance advisory business, where he advised on over 20 corporate finance and venture capital transactions for a range of private companies. He left Equinox to be CFO / COO of a business which explored a potential BIMBO in 2006. He has led or managed 16 investments, including Carbon Trust’s investment in AeroThermal Groupand has managed 2 profitable exits. He has an MA in Economics from Cambridge University.

Peter Bachmann

Peter is a career investor with > £1.2bn 3rd party equity deployed in over 100 successful global infra investments.  He is a former Director of Land Securities Trillium (“LST”) responsible for secondary and waste/WtE investment.  He is also a former Partner of Secondary Market Infrastructure Fund (“SMIF”) which was exited to LST for £927m at significant multiple and with a capital value of assets in excess of £5bn.  He is a founding member and Associate Director of Challenger’s infrastructure and real asset business

Chris Hughes

Chris joined Imperative Energy in 2009 as the UK Technical Sales Manager and is currently responsible for numerous projects varying from Government Buildings and large country house estate properties to large district heating projects.  Chris’s typical client base includes end users, consulting engineers, mechanical contractors, Facilities Management companies.  Chris is now the Sales and Marketing Director for Imperative Energy Ltd.

Paul Capell

Paul has 30 years experience in international water and oil and gas construction projects. He is a former main board Director at United Utilities plc a £2bn turnover business; Chairman of a Veolia Water division; Director at Weir Group plc, Director at Trafalgar John Brown.  He established, acquired run and exited businesses in Middle East, Europe, N. & S. America, S. Africa and Australia.  He is the non-executive Chairman of the Aerothermal Group.

Adam Workman

Adam joined the Carbon Trust from 3i in 2002 and was a founding Partner of CTIP in 2006. He has over ten years experience in the energy and venture capital sector. His investments include CamSemi, Marine Current Turbines and Intamac. Recently he co-authored the Carbon Trust’s report into investment trends the European Clean Energy Sector with New Energy Finance. Adam also sits on the European advisory panel for the Cleantech Group. He formerly worked with 3i and Shell Exploration. He has an MA in Natural Sciences and a Postgraduate diploma in Computer Science from Cambridge University.
